Holiday shopping and tree lighting to benefit the Y

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
A Winter Wonderland Holiday Shopping and Tree Lighting Event will be
held at Hanover’s South Shore YMCA Emilson Branch on Sunday,
December 15, from 2-5 pm. This event is open to the public, costs
$2.00 per person, and will feature an assortment of local crafters and
vendors. All proceeds will benefit the YMCA.

Shoppers will find a wide variety of incredible handmade goods at the
event – ranging from jewelry, clothing, wreaths and sea-inspired
gifts to doll outfits, handmade hair accessories and specialty coffee
and tea. Local children’s book author, Kate MacLeod Emery, will be
showcasing her holiday book /Muffy MacMouse and Christmas in the
Village/, among others.

An array of activities will be going on during the event such as face
painting, hair braiding, photos and story time with Santa, a bake sale
and hot cocoa bar, gift wrapping, crafts, fun photo opportunities,
kids’ gift making, and more. Raffle tickets will also be sold.

A reading of /The Polar Express/ by Santa and a tree lighting ceremony
complete with caroling by Hanover High School students, will wrap up
this magical evening.

The Y strives to serve the entire community and provides financial
assistance to ensure every child, family and individual has the
opportunity to learn, grow and thrive through South Shore YMCA
membership, programs and services.
