History of timekeeping program

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Join the Hanover Historical Society Wednesday, April 30th with our neighbor
Norwell Historical Society, as we will enjoy a program on the history of
timekeeping given by Les Tyrala. Tyrala is a Quincy antique clock restorer
and historian. After the presentation, he will have an “Antiques Roadshow”-
type session for people to bring in their clocks.

Although Les is not an appraiser, he will give a running commentary about
these clocks, their history, and general comments using trade journals and
eBay to determine current values. If you wish to bring your own clock
please make sure to unhook the pendulum bob before transporting and pack
well to ensure the safety of the piece.

Appetizers and Social Hour at 6:00 p.m., Dinner at 7:00 p.m., and Program
at 8:00 p.m. Dinner cost is $15. Roast pork dinner at Phoenix Lodge, 133
Broadway.

Reservations are required and may be made by calling the Historical Society
at 781-826-9575 or e-mailing Hanoverhistoricalsociety@gmail.com on or
before April 28th.
