Just for Teens art show now on display

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

“Just for Teens,” an art show for teens sponsored by the Friends of the
John Curtis Free Library, is now on display at the library! Eighteen
Hanover teens (13 – 18 years of age) submitted pieces which will be
displayed through the month of September. A jury of artists and art
educators including Renee MacMurray (an artist and gallery owner of
MacMurray Designs in Hanover), Mary Felton (a local artist), and Judy
Rossman (a local artist and former art teacher at Rockland High School)
selected works of merit and awarded cash prizes to 3 of the participants.

Congratulations to Emma Hardy (age 17) for her 1st place with “City
Reflections” and her $125 award. Una Davenport (age 13) was awarded $75
for her watercolor of Ricky Olson, and Laura Curran won $50 and third place
for her photograph of “First Light, Shagg Pond, Maine.” Thanks to all
of the participants and judges for their effort! Please be sure to see this
impressive display of local talent in September.
