Special Olympics training programs at Cardinal Cushing

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Please see below for some great opportunities at Cardinal Cushing Centers.

Special Olympic Track & Field Practice 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Spring session starts March 26th

Athletes will have the opportunity to pick two events they would like to
train for. Track events include the mile walk or run, 100 meter or 200
meter run or walk. Training will cover proper warm up/cool down activities
and proper nutrition and training attire. Athletes will have the
opportunity to participate at the Special Olympic assessments at Brockton
High School and attend the 2016 Massachusetts Special Olympic Summer Games
in Boston.

Special Olympic Young Athletes Program 10:00 –11:30 a.m.
8 week session runs from April 2, 2016 – May 21, 2016

This program, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Special Olympics, will
offer children with developmental disabilities under the age of 8 years old
(and their families) the chance to develop beginner sport skills through
fun activities. The program is held in the gymnasium with full use of all
of their equipment including the rock climbing wall. Program participants
will have the opportunity to use the heated outdoor pool for fun and to
develop beginner swimming skills. The pool is staffed by certified Water
Safety instructors and American Red Cross Life Guards. Please visit
