2009 Spirit of Hanover Community Service Award

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

I
would much rather hide behind my keyboard than allow the following e-mail to be
sent publicly.  It is quite possibly the most difficult e-mail I have sent
in the five year history of “Around Town on the Web”!  However,
I am grateful for and humbled by it, and besides, Paul Hayes might break
my arm if I don’t allow it to be sent.
J  I have therefore momentarily
relinquished “ATOTW” to the Spirit of Hanover Community Service
Award Committee, per the following request:

Dear
Cathy,

Below
please find the press release announcing the recipient of the 2009 Spirit
of Hanover Community Service Award.

As
we have done since ATOTW was established, the Committee has used ATOTW
to solicit nominations and to announce the recipient.  We would
like to do so again this year because we know that many residents of Hanover
rely on ATOTW for current information.  While this is a testament to the
fact that ATOTW has become an entity unto itself and to its importance as
a communication tool, the Committee realizes that it is asking
the 2009 recipient of the Award to publish the announcement.  We can
appreciate the fact that this would be awkward for you personally and as editor
of ATOTW.

If
possible, on behalf of the Committee, we are asking you to please temporarily
yield ATOTW to the Spirit of Hanover Committee Service Award Committee for the
purpose of making the following announcement.
