“Including Samuel” with the PAC

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Please join the Hanover Parent
Advisory Council for “Including Samuel”, a heartwarming,
internationally-acclaimed film that is a “must see” for anyone
who interacts with children or adults with any type of disability.  It
will be shown on Tuesday, March 10th, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00
p.m. at the Center School Auditorium.  “Including Samuel” is
an excellent follow up to “Rachel’s Challenge” that builds on
the important theme, “creating a community in Hanover that is tolerant of
all people”.

This hour-long documentary tells
the heartwarming story of five families’ efforts to include their
children into every facet of their lives. The film-maker, Dan Habib,
honestly discusses the challenges of inclusion, as well as the many benefits
it provides (not just the disabled but also to everyone in the classroom
and in the community).  To eliminate prejudice and bias toward people with
all kinds of disabilities, we first have to understand them. This film enables
us to see life through their eyes.  It is recommended for parents and
community leaders, as well as educators at the elementary, middle and high
school levels. It is also appropriate for children ages 10 and up.
The showing is free and open to the public.
