What are the major issues confronting the town which involve your office?
Please express your opinion on these issues and how you propose to deal
with them.

The revitalization of Route 53, especially the redevelopment of the
Hanover Mall, is a major issue confronting the town. I would be supportive
of economic development in this area and job creation initiatives in
general. I will work with local business owners, the chamber of commerce,
other town departments and residents to ensure that proposed future
development makes sense for the town and our residents. Small businesses
drive our local economy and a successful business structure is the best way
to keep our property taxes in check and keep our community affordable.

Why are you running for this office?

As a life-long Hanover resident, I am passionate about public service and
committed to our special community. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in
Government from Suffolk University and I will also complete my Master’s
degree in Public Administration in May 2017. Professionally, I have worked
at the State House for the past five years where I have gained invaluable
experience with regard to the inner workings of government, the legislative
process, and the complexities of our state laws and regulations. Our
community faces a very important juncture in our history as we deal with
defining issues such as the revitalization of Rt. 53 and the Hanover Mall.
This area of town has provided a significant tax base that has benefited
all local residents for generations. Moving forward, we must support smart,
modern planning that sustains successful economic development throughout
Hanover. I strongly believe that these projects, and other strategically
implemented planning initiatives are critical to the future success of our
community. I care deeply about my hometown and I would relish the
opportunity to be a member of the board continually charged with the
responsibilities of smart, sustained and responsible growth that benefits
all residents. I believe that my education, practical state government
experience, knowledge of the community, strong work ethic, and passion for
public service would allow me to be a strong contributor to the Hanover
Planning Board.
