. Due to hectic holiday schedules, busy travel plans and inclement
weather in the Northeast, blood donations typically drop during the winter
months.

. Whether it’s serving Thanksgiving dinner at a local shelter or
donating food to the poor, many families, friends and co-workers have
developed holiday traditions over the years. Consider giving blood over the
Thanksgiving week and start a new tradition with your family and friends.

. Blood is an essential component for patient care in area hospitals,
and the only source of blood is a healthy, volunteer blood donor. Blood is
needed throughout the holiday season and during the cold winter months.
