Here’s an update from the South Shore Vo-Tech High School’s Parent Advisory
\nCouncil:<\/p>\n
The January 11th SSVT PAC meeting regarding the Massasoit Community College
\nLATCH program has been re-scheduled. NO SSVT PAC MEETING WILL BE HELD ON
\nJANUARY 11th.<\/p>\n
Instead, Eric Hanson from Massasoit Community College will speak about
\nMassasoit’s Academic Support "LATCH" Program on February 15th from 6:00 –
\n8:00 p.m. in room 106 of the SSVT, located on Webster Street in Hanover.
\nParents and students are encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n
Latch is an academic support program that offers sections of Massasoit’s
\nrequired courses in reading, writing, math, and college experience. The
\ncourses are identical to those offered throughout the college, and the
\nprogram offers teachers with reputations for patience and clear
\ncommunication. Latch offers tutoring on a ‘drop-in’ basis, focuses on
\nreading and writing skills with special help available in social sciences,
\nspeech, basic computer skills, mathematics and other subjects. Latch also
\noffers counselors who are experienced at helping a student choose the right
\ncourses for that individual. For more information, go to
