Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The Hanover Foundation for Educational Enrichment congratulates Deidre White
\n(6th grade) for her winning entry in the Golden Apple Art Contest. Ms.
\nWhite’s painting combined charcoal, pencil and pastels to create a bowl
\nfilled to the brim with lovely apples in many beautiful hues. Four students
\nalso received honorable mentions: Eva Cass (5th grade), Kristen Marchetti
\n(5th grade), Hannah Cameron (6th grade), and Maria Calabro (8th grade). A

Ms. White won a $50 gift certificate to the Hanover Mall and students
\nreceiving honorable mentions were presented with sketch kits. Ms. White’s
\npainting (also found here http:\/\/www.atotw.com\/golden_apple.html ) will be
\nthe centerpiece of the Golden Apple Fundraiser this spring which raises
\nthousands of dollars for the Hanover Public Schools. Golden Apple cards are
\npurchased by students then presented to teachers. The card acknowledges the
\nteacher’s commitment and dedication to the students of Hanover. Cards are
\n$10 each and will be available for sale in May. <\/p>\n
Over 70 students submitted entries in numerous mediums including crayon,
\nmarker, pencil, pastel, charcoal and mixed media. Thanks to Mr. Egan, Mrs.
\nOpie, Ms. Russo and Ms. Grabowski at the Middle School for their help in
\ncoordinating this contest. The HFEE thanks all students who submitted
\nentries. All entries are on display at the Middle School. <\/p>\n
