Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
On April 26, 2011 at 7:00 p.m., a public meeting will be held at the
\nMemorial Park Elementary School, 1 Col. Brian Duffy Way in Rockland to
\ndiscuss the transformation of the West Hanover Branch of the Old
\nColony Line to a recreational trail. This section of rail bed is owned
\nby the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and
\nruns from Abington through Rockland and to the bridge over the
\nDrinkwater River in Hanover. The rail bed will be cleared of all
\nrails, ties and brush and compacted to make it suitable for walking or
\nmountain biking. Residents of Hanover would be able to access the
\ntrail in West Hanover and go all the way to Abington. A representative
\nof Iron Horse Preservation Society, Inc., who will perform the work,
\nwill be present to answer questions. The general public, business
\npeople, committee and board members and representatives of interested
\nagencies are invited to attend. Please come and participate. If you
