Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The vote to demolish Curtis School wasn\u2019t 24 hours old when the
\ninquiries regarding the future of Gallant Field and the adjacent
\nproperty started to come in. Actually, the discussions haven\u2019t
\nstopped for years! The fire department has made a case for the need
\nfor a fire station in the north end of town, and began talking about
\nthat site several years ago. Prior to the request for the new fire
\nstation, the Parks and Recreation Committee dreamed of including
\nGallant and an otherwise empty lot in its 2007 Parks and Recreation
\nMaster Plan.<\/p>\n
In an effort to re-cap these two ideas, ATOTW will feature some
\ngeneral information for your consideration. First off, please click on

The .pdf file located here is the \u201cpreferred plan\u201d as voted by the
\nParks and Recreation Committee in 2007 for Gallant. You can see that
\nit preserves the baseball field, and also adds some
\nlow-impact\/low-traffic volume tennis courts, a playground, and a
\n\u201csupport building\u201d that could include bathrooms. <\/p>\n
Since then, of course, the town started to make the case for a fire
\nstation on the north side of town. Stay tuned for further information
\nfrom the Fire Department!<\/p>\n
