Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
With the construction of the new Hanover High School nearing
\ncompletion, the old high school prepares for demolition. As a result,
\nan Auction\/Yard sale will be held on Saturday, June 25th!<\/p>\n
Although the old Hanover High School is coming down, the building has
\nlots of usable items and these will be auctioned or sold to create a
\nnew scholarship fund.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, June 25th at 8:30 a.m., there will be an auction in the
\nold High School gym. The auction will include some great items like
\nsets of lockers, old tables, chairs, bookcases, doors, cabinets and
\nmiscellaneous items. The auction will run for approximately 1 hour.
\nAfter the auction, residents can go through the building and buy any
\nremaining usable items from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All proceeds will
\ngo to create 4 individual scholarships for a member of the first four
\ngraduating classes from the new high school.<\/p>\n
The goal is to raise as much money as possible with a target goal of
\n$10,000. Residents can come and grab a piece of memorabilia and help
\nus recycle some cool items. Anything not sold will just end up in the
\ndemolition contract and we hope that people will stop by and shop or
\nat least write a check for the new scholarships.<\/p>\n
Volunteers are needed to help with the sale and can contact Chris

A few days after the sale, the Massachusetts State Police will conduct
\ntraining in the building for a day and then the building will begin
\nthe deconstruction process throughout the summer. The contractor hopes
\nto have the building down before the beginning of the school year. The
\nofficial dedication of the new High School will take place on Sunday,
\nSeptember 18th. Further details regarding the dedication will be
\nforthcoming; mark your calendars in the meantime! <\/p>\n
