The following e-mail came to me after an inquiry and e-mail discussion
\nwith Taha and Hini Kidwai of Broadway in Hanover. Instead of being
\ncompletely frustrated with the current state of school budget cuts,
\nthe Kidwais are doing something about it! If you have a student going
\nto Hanover High next year please read on, or if you know someone who
\ndoes, please send them this e-mail from Taha!
\nAs some of you might be aware, Joseph Ingle Bus Company is the
\ncontractor Hanover Schools engages for their student transportation
\nneeds. With the complete elimination of the bus service for high
\nschool students for the next academic year, Steve Ingle of Ingle Bus
\nhas provided 2 options for parents who may wish to utilize a private
\nbus service. Busing the students might be the preferred option for
\nsome parents with work conflicts AND it may prove to be advantageous
\nin inclement weather. Come old man winter they will appreciate a bus
\nand you will appreciate that they will be much more secure in a bus!
\nIt also frees parents from pick-up and drop-off duties!
\nIf there are at least 40 students, the cost would be $45,000 for the
\nschool year which works out to about $113 per month per student. If
\nthere are 80 students utilizing this service, the numbers work out to
\nabout $36,000 or $90 per month per student. The preceding numbers are
\nbased on a 10-month school year. Obviously, the more students who take
\nthe bus, the more potential savings will be realized. Please consider
\nthe above as you contemplate the next school year. If you are
