I am delighted to pass along the following information from our town’s
\nnew Fire Chief. <\/p>\n
A Safety Message from Hanover Fire Chief Jeffrey Blanchard:
\nI would like to take a moment to remind all citizens that during this
\nholiday weekend and throughout the summer months that \u201cfire injuries
\ndo not take a summer vacation\u201d.
\nMembers of the Hanover Fire Department were reminded of this fact when
\non Friday evening, we responded to an incident for a patient suffering
\nburns as a result of a home accident. Paramedics treated and
\ntransported this patient via Med Flight to a Boston Hospital for
\ntreatment. Preliminary indications are that some type of gel fuel was
\ninvolved in the incident. Further investigation is being performed by
\nthe members of the Hanover Fire Department and the State Fire
\nMarshal\u2019s office.
\nRemember, we all need to work together to provide a safe environment
\nduring outdoor activities. When the calendar says summer, or any time
\nwe enjoy activities we normally associate with being outdoors in
\nsummer, we need to remember that the pleasure of these activities can
\ncome to a sudden end unless we remain aware and protect ourselves
\nagainst fire and burn injuries.
