On Thursday August 25th, the John Curtis Library will host its annual
\nschool bus orientation for children who will be entering kindergarten.
\nChildren are invited to come in at 10:30 a.m. to hear some stories
\nabout kindergarten and riding the bus. At 11:00 a.m., the school bus
\nwill arrive and children will get on board. The driver will talk to
\nthem about bus rules, and then they will go for a short ride to both
\nelementary schools and back to the library. <\/p>\n
Parents whose children have attended this program in past years say
\nthat it is very helpful for those who have not ridden a school bus
\nbefore and may be a bit uncertain about it. Because of space
\nlimitations, parents do not go along for the ride. An exception can be
\nmade if a child is particularly anxious.<\/p>\n
