Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nGenerally speaking, \u201cAround Town on the Web\u201d webmaster and Hanover
\nresident Mike Van Lare is a pretty unassuming guy. He is sort of like
\na software security scanner\u2026he runs in the background, and you
\ndon\u2019t ever notice him or need him until there is a problem. Three
\nyears ago Mike responded to an ATOTW e-mail I sent that mentioned some
\ntechnical difficulties I was having and he volunteered his services.
\nSince then, ATOTW (read: Mike Van Lare) has established a website,
\narchives, unprecedented capacity, and migrated us over to some
\nsoftware that makes this writer\u2019s job practically effortless. I
\ncannot say enough about how much I value his efforts and service to
\nATOTW and therefore to all of you, dear readers. Trust me when I say
\nthat ATOTW would have simply folded without him!
\nAll of that being said, I am proud to announce that our very own
\nMichael Van Lare has been nominated for an international Information
\nTechnology (IT) award because of his IT expertise in his day job with
\nStarwood Hotels! The award is called the Windows IT Pro \u201cSystem
\nAdministrator of the Year,\u201d and Mike has already made the list of
\nthe top ten nominees (no surprise here!). Please join me in supporting
