The Friends of the John Curtis Free Library are happy<br \/>\nto announce two art workshops that will take place in the children&#8217;s<br \/>\narea of the library beginning in November:<\/p>\n<p> KREATIVE KIDS Art Workshop (ages 3 &#8211; 5): Private art instructor and<br \/>\nHanover resident Karen Cass will lead a six-week art course for 12<br \/>\nchildren, ages 3 &#8211; 5 years old. Classes will meet on Wednesdays<br \/>\nbeginning November 2 from 11:00 a.m. &#8211; 12:00 p.m. as follows: 11\/2,<br \/>\n11\/9, 11\/16, 11\/30, 12\/7 and 12\/14. Karen will introduce basic<br \/>\ntechniques in printmaking, collage, and drawing for preschool-aged<br \/>\nchildren. Together a variety of materials and subjects related to<br \/>\nnature and the season will be explored. Parents are invited to stay<br \/>\nand help.<\/p>\n<p> CLAY CLASS: Faces and Figures (Grades 4 &#8211; 6): Sculptor\/art educator<br \/>\nPam Golden will lead a six-week art course for 12 students in grades 4<br \/>\n&#8211; 6. Classes will meet on Fridays beginning November 4 from 3:30 p.m.<br \/>\n&#8211; 4:30 p.m. as follows: 11\/4, 11\/11, 11\/18, 12\/2, 12\/9, and 12\/16. Pam<br \/>\nwill teach a variety of clay hand-building techniques &#8212; and will<br \/>\nbring tools and clay for students to use. Students will create clay<br \/>\nmasks, puppets, whistles and more.<\/p>\n<p>These classes are fully funded by the Friends of the John Curtis Free<br \/>\nLibrary. Participants are asked only to pay a $10\/person fee for<br \/>\nsupplies. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve<br \/>\nbasis to any interested patron. Registration takes place at the<br \/>\nchildren\u2019s circulation desk at the library and requires payment for<br \/>\nsupplies.
