Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The Hanover High School Boys Soccer team defeated Mashpee in their
\nfirst round tournament match by a score of 5 – 2 on Monday night.
\nTyler Fitzgerald started the scoring for Hanover off a corner kick.
\nBrian Wheeler and Hank Foster added scores in the 1st half as well as
\nHanover surged to a 3-0 half time lead. In the 2nd half, Eric Miller
\nand Derek Healy added goals pushing Hanover to a 5-0 lead before
\nMashpee scored 2 late goals. Hanover travels to 2nd seeded
\nDover-Sherburne Wednesday night (November 9th) for a tough second
\nround game.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the Hanover High School Girls Soccer team had their
\ntournament run cut short by Old Colony Regional on Sunday afternoon. A
\nfirst half score by Alicia Varraso was equaled by Old Colony in the
\nsecond half and after 2 over time periods the game went to penalty
\nkicks. It took nine penalty rounds to decide the match with Old Colony
\nsqueaking out the win. It was a tough loss indeed for the Hanover
\ngirls, who nevertheless had a great season overall.<\/p>\n
