Below please find some of the currently proposed school budget cuts
\nfor 2012-2013. Please understand that this list is not final or
\ncomplete; the School Committee will be voting on the final FY \u201913
\nbudget on January 4, 2012. These are the items that are currently
\nunder consideration: <\/p>\n
*Center Sylvester Elementary CUTS of $85,000*
\nAssistant Principal reduction in days
\n.2 of a Music Teacher (as of 12\/21, this may no longer be considered)
\n.2 of an Art Teacher (as of 12\/21, this may no longer be considered)
\n.2 of a Reading Specialist
\n1.0 of a Reading Specialist<\/p>\n
*Cedar Elementary CUTS of $80,000*
\n.2 of a Music Teacher
\n.2 of an Informational Technology Teacher
\n.2 of a Reading Specialist
\n1.0 of a Reading Specialist<\/p>\n
*Middle School CUTS of $210,000*
\n1.0 of Grade 5 Teacher
\n1.0 of Grade 6 Teacher
\n1.0 of a Grade 7 Social Studies Teacher
\n1.0 of a Grade 8 Social Studies Teacher
\nBoth Assistant Principals unpaid leave for 10 days<\/p>\n
*High School CUTS of $202,000*
\n.5 of a Secretary
\n.4 of the Athletic Director
\n1.0 of a Spanish Teacher
\n1.0 of an Engineering Teacher
\n.8 of a Chemistry Teacher<\/p>\n
*District Level CUTS of $429,000*
\n.70 of a Secretary = $31,000
\nAthletic Fund = $39,000
\nAthletic Revolving Fund = $10,000
\nSpecial Education Transportation = $9,000
\nCedar Preschool Revolving Fund = $10,000
\nRetirement Savings = $27,000
\nCircuit Breaker = $240,000
\nNo Administration or District pay increases = $25,000
\n.50 Food Services (will be self funded) = $38,000<\/p>\n
*Total proposed cuts to date: $1,037,000*
\n*Total proposed additions to budget to date: $185,000*
\n*Net total reductions to date: $852,000*<\/p>\n
At this evening\u2019s School Committee meeting, the School Committee
\nwill be asked to review additional budget issues related to
\ntechnology, facilities, utilities, transportation, food service,
\nmaintenance, etc.<\/p>\n
Again, the final budget will be voted upon by the School Committee at
