Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
The Spirit of Hanover Community Service Award Committee is proud to
\nannounce that ROGER A. LESLIE, SR. has been selected as the recipient
\nof the 11th Annual Spirit of Hanover Community Service Award.<\/p>\n
This Award is presented annually to an individual who best exemplifies
\nthe Spirit of Hanover by voluntarily giving selflessly of their time,
\nenergy and talent to the Town and its citizens thus enriching our
\nlives, fostering a true sense of community and inspiring us all to a
\nhigher level of service. <\/p>\n
Roger is a lifelong resident of the Town and has an outstanding record
\nof service to the community extending over fifty years. A small sample
\nof his considerable efforts include his long-time service as a call
\nfire-fighter for the Town; his service as Chairman of the Hackett\u2019s
\nPond Dam Study Committee as well as involvement with the Hanover
\nHistorical Society; the Stetson House, where he has served on the
\nBoard of Directors and as an Overseer; the Hanover Council on Aging,
\nwhere he has served as Chairman of the fundraising drive to assist
\nwith the purchase of additional furnishings, equipment and programs
\nfor the Senior Center; the Tri-Town Rotary, where Roger has held many
\noffices and has twice been named as a Paul Harris Fellow; and 50 years
\nof involvement with the Phoenix Masonic Lodge. Those who have attended
\na Hanover Day event or a Hanover Memorial Day Parade would be sure to
\nhave enjoyed the fruits of Roger\u2019s considerable talents as they were
\ntreated to his restored antique fire engines including the 1919 Model
