Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
After that last e-blast from South Shore Vo-Tech, I thought I would
\ntake a minute to provide another quick update regarding the students
\nat Hanover High, too. <\/p>\n
First of all, please join Hanover High students in celebrating \u201cPi
\nDay\u201d today! My daughter informed me that 3\/14 is also Albert
\nEinstein\u2019s birthday, an auspicious occasion, for sure.<\/p>\n
But more importantly, I am delighted to announce that Hanover High
\nstudents Shestin Thomson and Maya Collins have done so well in the
\nSoutheastern Massachusetts Regional Science Fair that they have
\nqualified for the Massachusetts State Science Fair to be held at MIT
\nin May of this year. Additionally, I have it on good authority that
\nShestin won a Naval Academy research award on top of the regional
\naward.<\/p>\n
Maya\u2019s project is titled \u201cEffects of Music on Memory\u201d, and
\nShestin\u2019s project is \u201cThe Effects of Blade Pitch and Number on the
\nElectrical Output of Turbines\u201d. I had the good fortune to attend the
\nlocal Hanover Science Fair a couple of weeks ago and I can tell you
\nthat there were scores of outstanding projects right here in Hanover
\nalone. For these two young ladies to advance from Hanover\u2019s Science
\nFair and then again from the regional competition to the state
\ncompetition is simply amazing. Congratulations to both of them and to
\ntheir proud parents!<\/p>\n
