\nLooking for April vacation ideas? The Hanover Cultural Council is
\nexcited to announce *Kite Day* for Hanover’s children. On Saturday,
\nApril 14, Dr. Wallace Kemp will again open his field at 688 Main
\nStreet from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to anyone interested in flying a
\nkite (pending good weather). This field is situated on a hill which
\naffords wonderful kite-flying on a moderately windy day. As the field
\nis part of larger conservation area of the Wildlands Trust of
\nSoutheastern Massachusetts, there is plenty of space for all. Don
\nMcCasland, the Program Director of the Blue Hill Observatory and an
\navid kite-lover, will also be at the field to provide great tips on
\nkite-flying technique.<\/p>\n
In conjunction with this event, the Friends of the John Curtis Free
\nLibrary will host a *kite-making program* on Saturday, April 14 from
\n10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. downstairs at the John Curtis Free Library.
\nDon McCasland will provide kite kits and show you how to construct
\nyour kite. This event is recommended to children ages 4-8 with a
\nparent and for 8 and over without a parent (the parent must otherwise
\nremain in the library). The program lasts for about an hour. These
\nactivities are free (funded by the Hanover Cultural Council and the
\nFriends of the John Curtis Free Library) and open to the public, but
\nyou must register your child to make a kite at the children’s
\ncirculation desk at the library. There are 40 spaces reserved from
\n10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., another 40 spaces from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00
\np.m.
