Cooperation, empathy, conflict<br \/>\nresolution, managing emotions, and listening skills are important<br \/>\nskills that are not learned by all children naturally. For some<br \/>\nchildren, complex mathematics is easier than carrying on a<br \/>\nconversation with a peer. The good news is that social skills can be<br \/>\ntaught to children. Social Thinking techniques were developed to help<br \/>\nchildren get through their school day as well as develop and maintain<br \/>\nfriendships. What are Social Thinking Skills? How we know if a student<br \/>\nwill benefit from Social Thinking groups and strategies? Participants<br \/>\nin this workshop will gain increased knowledge and understanding of<br \/>\nsocial thinking, and strategies to stimulate the development of these<br \/>\nskills in diverse learners.<\/p>\n<p>\/Presented by:\/<br \/>\n\/ \/Amy Gordon, M.Ed. of Second Nature Social Skills<\/p>\n<p>What is the Hanover Parent Advisory Council?<br \/>\nThe PAC is a parent group whose mission is to work toward<br \/>\nunderstanding, respect, support and appropriate education for all<br \/>\nchildren with learning differences in our community.
