Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Town Meeting 2012 adjourned last night and moved on to the Town
\nElections this coming Saturday. Residents debated 60 articles and
\nbrought one back up for reconsideration over the course of the past
\ntwo nights.<\/p>\n
Among the items that generated discussion last night were: a failed
\nbid to approve the addition of fees for sellers of motor vehicles; an
\nunsuccessful attempt to rescind last year’s decision to tear down
\nCurtis School, and an aborted endeavor to reconsider Article 10, the
\nOmnibus Budget – with the hope of adding $90,000 from the defeat of
\nArticle 24 into the education line of the town’s budget.<\/p>\n
Congratulations to all of the town’s officials and volunteer board
\nmembers for their hard work and concerted efforts to make democracy
\nhappen. And further congratulations to the town’s voters for spirited
\ndebate regarding some challenging questions. Together we make this
\ntown great!<\/p>\n
Elections will be held this Saturday at Hanover High School. Don’t
\nforget to vote! The polls are open from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
