Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Donations of items are needed for the upcoming annual Last Resort Cat
\nShelter\u2019s Giant Yard Sale. The sale will raise money to help
\nabandoned and injured cats and kittens. Expenses have increased in
\nrecent years and a successful sale will go a long way towards
\ncontinuing to provide excellent care for pets in need. Since 1981, the
\nshelter on Broadway in Hanover has found homes for more than 11,000
\ncats and kittens. <\/p>\n
Younger members of the Last Resort\u2019s volunteer staff are reviving
\nthe popular annual Giant Yard Sale, hosting it at one of their homes
\non Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24. In years past, over 100
\nfamilies donated items to the sale. <\/p>\n
They welcome furniture, books and DVDs, costume jewelry, collectibles,
\ntools, dishes, pots and pans, clothes, small appliances, toys and
\ngames, sporting and exercise equipment, musical instruments, tools and
\nhousehold items\u2014in short, anything you think will sell and make
\nmoney to help pets in need\u2014they’ve even had boats and go-karts
\ndonated in the past! (Please no tires or non-working appliances). <\/p>\n
At the site of the sale in Hanson (181 Union Street), a volunteer will
\nbe on hand on the following days to help unload items: Saturday, June
\n2, Saturday, June 9, and Friday, June 15 – each day from 11:00 a.m.
\n\u2014 4:00 p.m. You may also leave items at the shelter in Hanover (1126
\nBroadway) on Saturday, June 2 and Saturday, June 16 – each day from
\n10:00 a.m. \u2014 noon. To leave things at other times, please call Trish
\nin Hanson at (617) 840-6997, or Joan in Hanover at (781) 826-5610.<\/p>\n
