Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nTown Moderator Doug Thomson is currently seeking volunteer applicants
\nfor an anticipated open seat on the Parks and Recreation Committee.
\nThis opening is to fill an unexpired three year term for the remaining
\ntwo years of the term. The position requires monthly Parks and
\nRecreation Committee meeting attendance on the first Tuesday of the
\nmonth and potential additional responsibilities or meetings as
\nassigned and\/or welcomed by the member.
\nThe position will be open effective September 1st, 2012, concurrent
\nwith the end of the summer program and in anticipation of the start of
\nthe new fall programs. The successful applicant should be prepared to
\nattend the September meeting (date to be announced due to the
\nanticipated conflict with the start of school) as the yearly committee
\nreorganization process will occur at that time. High on the
\ncommittee\u2019s to-do list over the next two years will be the
\ncompletion of the Forge Pond Park Complex located off King Street, and
\nre-visiting the Parks and Recreation Master Plan that was completed in
\nthe fall of 2007 and that is now potentially eligible for Community
\nPreservation funding due to a change in CPA legislation that became
\neffective July 1, 2012.
