{"id":1666,"date":"2012-09-15T10:50:04","date_gmt":"2012-09-15T14:50:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=1666"},"modified":"2012-09-15T10:50:04","modified_gmt":"2012-09-15T14:50:04","slug":"hanover-cultural-council-funding-proposals-sought","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atotw.com\/archive\/?p=1666","title":{"rendered":"Hanover Cultural Council funding proposals sought"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n<p>The Hanover Cultural Council is now seeking funding proposals for<br \/>\ncommunity-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs! <\/p>\n<p>The Hanover Cultural Council has set an October 15 postmark deadline<br \/>\nfor organizations, schools and individuals to apply for grants that<br \/>\nsupport cultural activities in the community. <\/p>\n<p>According to Council Chairperson Katie Duff, these grants may support<br \/>\na variety of artistic projects and activities in Hanover including<br \/>\nexhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or<br \/>\nperformances in schools, workshops and lectures. <\/p>\n<p>The Hanover Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local<br \/>\nCultural Councils (LCC) serving all 351 cities and towns in the<br \/>\nCommonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural<br \/>\nfunding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based<br \/>\nprojects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state<br \/>\nlegislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts<br \/>\nCultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each<br \/>\ncommunity. <\/p>\n<p>This year, the Hanover Cultural Council will distribute about $3,870<br \/>\nin state funded grants. Previously funded projects include: Plimouth<br \/>\nPlantation and Heritage Museum library passes, Whale Day at Hanover<br \/>\nMiddle School, an \u201cIntroduction to Birding in Hanover\u201d with<br \/>\nMassachusetts Audubon, artists in residence in the Hanover Schools,<br \/>\nand sponsorship of groups in Hanover including the Harbor Choral Arts<br \/>\nSociety and the Hanover Diversity Committee.<\/p>\n<p>For specific guidelines and complete information on the *Hanover<br \/>\nCultural Council*, contact Katie Duff at 617-653-8433 or<br \/>\naribba@aol.com<br \/>\n.
