Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nThe Hanover School Committee is pleased to announce that Dr. Carl R.
\nBatchelder will be joining the Hanover Public Schools as the new
\ninterim superintendent. Dr. Batchelder comes to Hanover after retiring
\nin 2009 from the Woburn Public Schools, where he served for 15 years
\nas Superintendent. Dr. Batchelder has 36 years of experience in
\neducation serving as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent
\nand superintendent.
\nUltimately, there were two very qualified candidates before the School
\nCommittee. The Committee chose Dr. Batchelder by a vote of 3 in favor
\nand 1 abstention. The Committee is convinced that Dr. Batchelder’s
\ncollaborative attitude, thoughtful demeanor and view towards strategic
\nplanning make him the perfect fit for the Hanover Schools during this
\ninterim period. Dr. Batchelder also has significant experience with
\nissues facing our school district, including level funded budgets, the
\nNEASC accreditation process and hiring administrative staff.
