\n\/A Workshop for Parents and Professionals\/<\/p>\n

\nMeeting Location:* **Hanover High School, (First Floor\/Multipurpose
\nRoom)**, *Cedar Street<\/p>\n
\/This workshop will address transition planning and services required
\nfor youth with disabilities ages 14-22, focusing on both the
\ntransition special education services which prepare youth for
\nemployment, independent living and further education, and mechanisms
\nto plan for services students may require when they exit special
\neducation and transition to the adult human service system. Through
\nthe use of case examples, families and professionals will learn
\nstrategies that may help students receive important transition
\nservices mandated by special education laws. Parents and professionals
\nwill also gain an understanding of Chapter 688, the federal law that
\nhelps plan for youth with disabilities after they leave school.\/<\/p>\n

\nThe *PAC* is a parent group whose mission is to work toward
\nunderstanding, respect, support and appropriate education for all
\nchildren with learning differences in our community. The *Hanover PAC*
\nwill provide an opportunity for parents to network and share
\ninformation as well as a way to work constructively with our schools
\nto make them the best they can be for all children.<\/p>\n
