Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nA well-liked instructor by students and staff, Chad Weirick is the
\nassistant music director and principal accompanist for the 200 voice
\nBoston Gay Men\u2019s Chorus. Traveling the world, his numerous choral
\narrangements have been performed and recorded not only the BGMC, but
\nby many other choruses nationally and internationally. Chad also holds
\nthe position as Minister of Music at the First Congregational Church
\nin Hanover. Jokingly calling it a \u2018gig\u2019, Chad finds it to be one
\nof his most satisfying endeavors.
\nWhen asked what his plans are for the future, Chad stated he is
\npondering the idea of directing a teen choir in Hanover. \u201cWith the
\narts funding dwindling in schools, the opportunities for kids aren\u2019t
\nas great as they once were. I\u2019d like to give back and teenagers are
\nso smart and easy to work with that we\u2019d need to only practice once
\na week to be ready to perform on Sunday!\u201d
\nFor now though, until the Teen Choral program gets underway, the next
\nopportunity to hear Chad and the First Congregational Church Choir
\nwill be the Sunday before Christmas on December 23rd. The 8:00 a.m.
\nand 10:30 a.m. services will feature the annual \u201cLessons and
\nCarols\u201d, consisting of the Story of Christmas interspersed with 7
\ndifferent arrangements of Chad\u2019s featuring all styles of Christmas
\nmusic. \u201cI like to mix it up,\u201d Chad stated. \u201cIt\u2019s very fun and
\nbrings an international flavor to the service, while still focusing
\nvery much on the essence of Christmas.\u201d
