Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nThe following e-mail update comes directly from the good folks at the
\nHanover Food Pantry. Please especially note the temporary change in
\nthe hours due to the holidays.
\n\u201cWhat a busy season we are having at the pantry! It is marvelous
\nthat we are able to keep up with food demands since our town has such
\namazing citizens who are willing to share and take care of our needs.
\nEver since the Around-the-Town e-mail call went out in September
\nstating that the shelves were emptying out as fast as they were
\nstocked, we have been very busy taking in all kind of contributions.
\nGroups, schools, scouts, sports teams, civic organizations, churches,
\nclubs, private citizens and more have all come forward to donate
\neither money, collected food, gift cards or their time to help the
\npantry. Shaw’s has had a special collection throughout the fall, and
\nStop and Shop has been working with us by donating surplus goods.
\nPanera day-old breads are donated weekly as are baked goods from
\nLillian M’s. Our clients love these treats and look forward to the
\ntableful of breads, muffins, bagels, cakes and cookies.
\nThe need for services at the pantry has increased greatly over the
\npast two months. Last week we helped feed 21 families and this
\nWednesday we had 32. Luckily, we were able to fill everyone\u2019s
\nrequests and send them home with bags of groceries. We are grateful,
\nand thank everyone in town for answering our need. It gives all of the
\nvolunteers at the pantry great pleasure to fill the need.
\nWe are changing our hours for the next two weeks as the holidays fall
\non Tuesdays. Below are the changes and we will return to our normal
\nschedule afterwards.
\nThe pantry will be closed for ingathering on Monday, December 24, and
\nclosed for distribution, Wednesday, December 26.
\nWe will open on Friday, December 28th, for ingathering from 9:30 –
\n11:30 a.m., and distribution from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. <\/p>\n
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but as we are
\nstaffed entirely by volunteers, we felt it best to give our staff a
\nmuch needed holiday break.
\nWe will have the same schedule for the New Year\u2019s holiday as well.
\nThe pantry will be closed for ingathering on Monday, December 31, and
\nclosed for distribution, Wednesday, January 2, 2013.
\nWe will open on Friday, January 4, for ingathering from 9:30 – 11:30
\na.m., and distribution from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
\nIf anyone wanted to drop off a contribution next Monday, please wait
\nuntil Friday, December 28, or mail contributions to:
