\nthought this would be a perfect remedy \u2013 thoughts about and plans
\nfor summer! The following is from the good folks at Hanover Parks and
\nRec:

\n*Hanover Parks and Recreation\u2019s Summer Program Registration starts
\non Wednesday February 13th! Keep reading for information regarding
\nPark and Rec, Teen Extreme and Kids Klub summer offerings! *<\/p>\n

*\/Park and Rec\/* is a memorable camp experience that has made a
\nsignificant impact in the lives of countless Hanover residents over
\nthe past 50 years.
\n* *
\n*OUR PURPOSE:* To provide an inexpensive, age-appropriate opportunity
\nfor all youth to experience outdoor passive and active recreation with
\ntheir peers all while creating great memories and new friends.<\/p>\n
*OUR PROGRAM:* The Park and Rec program is for children ages
\nKindergarten – 6th grades and consists of four sessions (Session One
\nis 1 week at $60, Sessions 2 – 4 are 2 weeks at $150). This program is
\nopen to all Hanover residents K – 6. Each grade travels together to
\ndifferent stations every 55 minutes, these stations range from arts
\nand crafts to floor hockey to tennis. Within each grade level, 14
\nchildren are assigned a counselor to guide them and provide activities
\nthroughout the day. The counselor groups are usually done
\nalphabetically and just for attendance purposes. The entire grade
\nplays together. Along with the counselors, the Parks and Recreation
\nDepartment also employs four Assistant Directors and two Directors.
\nThe Assistant Directors provide services such as first aid help,
\nweekly talent shows, tournaments and arts and crafts. The two
\ndirectors oversee all aspects of camp including field trips, pizza
\ndays, t-shirt distribution as well as the normal day to day
\noperations.
\n*OUR PROMISE: * To do everything possible to allow all children to
\nhave the best possible summer by creating many opportunities for
\nchildren to have fun all summer long.<\/p>\n
*\/Teen Extreme \/*is an exciting unique experience for middle school
\nstudents that bridges the gap between organized summer activities and
\nfield trips. <\/p>\n
*OUR PURPOSE:* To provide an inexpensive, age-appropriate opportunity
\nfor all middle school students to socialize and stay active during the
\nsummer.
\n*OUR PROGRAM:* The Teen Extreme program is a field trip based,
\nexploration program that consists of seven 1 week sessions at $120 per
\nweek\/child (3 out of 4 days are field trips). This program is open to
\n5th \u2013 8th graders. Each week, children travel to two new and
\nexciting places across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
\nField trips are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. During Rec Center
\ndays many activities are offered by the staff and the campers choose
\nwhether to participate or not. New this year – we are adding an
\nadditional field trip day!
\n*OUR PROMISE:* To allow for fun age-appropriate activities for middle
\nschool students of Hanover to enjoy and experience each week of the
\nsummer. <\/p>\n
*\/Kids Klub\/* is an introductory program to get young children and
\nfamilies interested in Park and Rec summer activities and a place
\nwhere first friends are made!<\/p>\n
*OUR PURPOSE:* To provide an inexpensive, age-appropriate opportunity
\nfor potty trained 3 – 6 year olds to socialize and have fun with other
\nchildren their age. Kids Klub will serve as a \u201crecruitment tool\u201d
\nfor future Park and Rec participants and hopefully life-long fans of
\nour summer programs.
\n*OUR PROGRAM:* Kids Klub is a unique pre-k program that runs over the
\ncourse of 7 weeks. New this year, children will be assigned a
\ncounselor to travel to different stations (making it a smaller version
\nof Park and Rec). Session One is 1 week while Session Two, Three and
\nFour are 2 weeks. We offer two different options for parents. Option
\n1: Three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the Rec
\nCenter; Option 2: adds Mondays and Wednesdays at the pre-k playground
\nat B. Everett Hall (Sylvester) Field. Both options start at 8:30 a.m.
\nand continue until 12:30 p.m. The children are divided into counselor
\ngroups to travel with their groups to different assigned stations.
\n*OUR PROMISE:* We understand that for many children this may be the
\nfirst time that they have been away from their parents for an extended
\nperiod of time. We promise that your children will enjoy themselves
\nwhile creating new friends in a fun and safe environment.<\/p>\n
