The following is from the good folks at Hanover Parks and<br \/>\nRec:<br \/>\n* *<br \/>\n*Hanover Parks and Recreation\u2019s Summer Program Registration starts<br \/>\non Wednesday February 13th! Keep reading for information regarding<br \/>\nPark and Rec, Teen Extreme and Kids Klub summer offerings! *<\/p>\n<p>\/Summer programs run from July 1st-August 16th!\/<\/p>\n<p>Visit http:\/\/www.hanoverparkandrec.com<\/p>\n<p> for more information and registration details.<\/p>\n<p>*\/Park and Rec\/* is a memorable camp experience that has made a<br \/>\nsignificant impact in the lives of countless Hanover residents over<br \/>\nthe past 50 years.<br \/>\n* *<br \/>\n*OUR PURPOSE:* To provide an inexpensive, age-appropriate opportunity<br \/>\nfor all youth to experience outdoor passive and active recreation with<br \/>\ntheir peers all while creating great memories and new friends.<\/p>\n<p>*OUR PROGRAM:* The Park and Rec program is for children ages<br \/>\nKindergarten &#8211; 6th grades and consists of four sessions (Session One<br \/>\nis 1 week at $60, Sessions 2 &#8211; 4 are 2 weeks at $150). This program is<br \/>\nopen to all Hanover residents K &#8211; 6. Each grade travels together to<br \/>\ndifferent stations every 55 minutes, these stations range from arts<br \/>\nand crafts to floor hockey to tennis. Within each grade level, 14<br \/>\nchildren are assigned a counselor to guide them and provide activities<br \/>\nthroughout the day. The counselor groups are usually done<br \/>\nalphabetically and just for attendance purposes. The entire grade<br \/>\nplays together. Along with the counselors, the Parks and Recreation<br \/>\nDepartment also employs four Assistant Directors and two Directors.<br \/>\nThe Assistant Directors provide services such as first aid help,<br \/>\nweekly talent shows, tournaments and arts and crafts. The two<br \/>\ndirectors oversee all aspects of camp including field trips, pizza<br \/>\ndays, t-shirt distribution as well as the normal day to day<br \/>\noperations.<br \/>\n*OUR PROMISE: * To do everything possible to allow all children to<br \/>\nhave the best possible summer by creating many opportunities for<br \/>\nchildren to have fun all summer long.<\/p>\n<p>*\/Teen Extreme \/*is an exciting unique experience for middle school<br \/>\nstudents that bridges the gap between organized summer activities and<br \/>\nfield trips. <\/p>\n<p>*OUR PURPOSE:* To provide an inexpensive, age-appropriate opportunity<br \/>\nfor all middle school students to socialize and stay active during the<br \/>\nsummer.<br \/>\n*OUR PROGRAM:* The Teen Extreme program is a field trip based,<br \/>\nexploration program that consists of seven 1 week sessions at $120 per<br \/>\nweek\/child (3 out of 4 days are field trips). This program is open to<br \/>\n5th \u2013 8th graders. Each week, children travel to two new and<br \/>\nexciting places across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.<br \/>\nField trips are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. During Rec Center<br \/>\ndays many activities are offered by the staff and the campers choose<br \/>\nwhether to participate or not. New this year &#8211; we are adding an<br \/>\nadditional field trip day!<br \/>\n*OUR PROMISE:* To allow for fun age-appropriate activities for middle<br \/>\nschool students of Hanover to enjoy and experience each week of the<br \/>\nsummer. <\/p>\n<p>*\/Kids Klub\/* is an introductory program to get young children and<br \/>\nfamilies interested in Park and Rec summer activities and a place<br \/>\nwhere first friends are made!<\/p>\n<p>*OUR PURPOSE:* To provide an inexpensive, age-appropriate opportunity<br \/>\nfor potty trained 3 &#8211; 6 year olds to socialize and have fun with other<br \/>\nchildren their age. Kids Klub will serve as a \u201crecruitment tool\u201d<br \/>\nfor future Park and Rec participants and hopefully life-long fans of<br \/>\nour summer programs.<br \/>\n*OUR PROGRAM:* Kids Klub is a unique pre-k program that runs over the<br \/>\ncourse of 7 weeks. New this year, children will be assigned a<br \/>\ncounselor to travel to different stations (making it a smaller version<br \/>\nof Park and Rec). Session One is 1 week while Session Two, Three and<br \/>\nFour are 2 weeks. We offer two different options for parents. Option<br \/>\n1: Three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the Rec<br \/>\nCenter; Option 2: adds Mondays and Wednesdays at the pre-k playground<br \/>\nat B. Everett Hall (Sylvester) Field. Both options start at 8:30 a.m.<br \/>\nand continue until 12:30 p.m. The children are divided into counselor<br \/>\ngroups to travel with their groups to different assigned stations.<br \/>\n*OUR PROMISE:* We understand that for many children this may be the<br \/>\nfirst time that they have been away from their parents for an extended<br \/>\nperiod of time.
