Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nHanover Emergency Management is working with National Grid to expedite
\npower restoration to all Hanover residents. As of noontime today
\n(Monday February 11, 2013) there were over 100 crews and more than 200
\nworkers from National Grid in the Town of Hanover working to restore
\npower.
\nThe Hanover Senior Center will be open today until 4:00 p.m. as a
\nwarming\/comfort station. You can get a cup of hot coffee while you
\nrecharge your mobile device.
\nSteps that you should take to expedite power restoration to your home:
\n\u00b7 Please call National Grid at 1-800-322-3223 to report your outage.
\nYou must make sure your individual outage is documented in National
\nGrid\u2019s data base.
\n\u00b7 If you have damage to the wires that connect your home to the pole
\nyou must contact a licensed electrician to make the necessary repairs
\nbefore National Grid can re-connect.<\/p>\n
Other steps that you can take to help out:
\n\u00b7 Shovel out a 3 foot clearance around the hydrant closest to your
\nhome.
\n\u00b7 Check on your neighbor. Help them get shoveled out.
\n\u00b7 Make sure that all doorways are free from snow. Drifted snow can
\nprevent doors from being opened in an emergency.<\/p>\n
