\n“Two days old and nowhere to go,” is how Joan describes three tiny
\nkittens rescued yesterday, unwanted victims of a broken relationship.
\n\u201cI FLEW out of the house; the car had to catch up with me!\u201d
\nITEMS NEEDED FOR LAST RESORT YARD SALE<\/p>\n
Joan Norris, who has run the Last Resort cat shelter in a carriage
\nhouse behind her home since 1981, is hosting a Yard Sale to raise
\nfunds for food and veterinary care. The sale will be held June 1 and
\n2; mark your calendars; details will be forthcoming here on \u201cAround
\nTown on the Web\u201d.
\nItems for the sale may be dropped off at 1126 Broadway in Hanover in
\nMay from 11:00 a.m. \u2014 5:00 p.m. on the following days: Saturday May
\n18, Friday May 24, Saturday May 25, and the day before the sale,
\nFriday May 31. Volunteers will be on hand during \u201cintake\u201d days to
\nhelp you unload items. To bring things at another time, please call

\nAll types of items are welcome\u2014vintage, gently used, or
\nnew\u2014including small pieces of furniture, books and DVDs,
\ncollectibles and costume jewelry, toys and games, clothing, bikes,
\ntools, sporting equipment, tools, musical instruments, lawn care
\nequipment, and household items like small appliances, glass, cookware,
\ndishes, area rugs, cell phones, lamps, bookcases\u2014in short, anything
\nyou think might sell and raise dollars for needy pets. (Please no
\ntires or non-working appliances.) \u201cWrite me at
