Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nThis June, come to the library to celebrate Pam Golden’s new book,
\nVictorian Cat Tales, Book One: The Life and Times of Rose and Leopold!
\nThe Friends of the John Curtis Free Library are very happy to announce
\na Victorian Tea for Three (adult, child, stuffed animal) on Saturday,
\nJune 1, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the library. <\/p>\n
Pam Golden, a local artist\/educator, has led many afternoon clay
\nclasses at the library for children. Pam’s clay sculptures illustrate
\nthe book which is written by her sister, Catherine Golden. It features
\nthe friendship between two cats – Rose and Leopold. The cat’s lives
\nintersect with the history of Queen Victoria, Price Albert, and
\nBuckingham Palace. To celebrate the publication of this book, Pam will
\nread the story while Donna and Ron Lasko (often seen at the Windsor
\nTea House in Cohasset) will talk about Victorian tea traditions,
\ndisplay some of their collections (cards, fans, and more), offer their
\nown gourmet blend of black tea with ginger, and offer one lucky
\nparticipant a beautiful tea-related door prize. The children will also
\nhave the chance to make their own Victorian souvenirs to bring home
\nand enjoy. Pam\u2019s book will be on sale for purchase after the tea.<\/p>\n
This is truly a charming, interesting, and fun way to spend an
\nafternoon. Children are asked to bring a special stuffed animal.
\nPlease join us and bring your favorite tea cup for service (please
\nalso bring a tea cup for the child and animal). Pastries and fruit
\nwill also be served. This event is recommended for children ages 6 and
\nup. Tickets are $5 each. You may purchase tickets at the library
\ncirculation desk downstairs now. Tickets are limited to 40, so plan to
