What: Comic Art workshop with Andy and Veronica Fish
\nWhen: Saturday, June 15th, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
\nWhere: Large Meeting Room, John Curtis Library
\nWho: Ages 13+ and adults
\nCall or stop by the 2nd floor circulation desk to sign up!<\/p>\n
Jazz, Rock and Roll and Comic Books are the only art forms created in
\nthe United States. Born out of comic strips in the 1930’s, comic books
\nbecame increasingly popular with GI’s during WWII and have grown and
\ndeveloped in the 80+ years since they first appeared. This workshop
\nwill provide an in depth look at the history of American comics,
\nfollowed by a hands-on workshop offering techniques and tricks,
\nadvanced storytelling, lettering, sound effects and inking tips. For
\nbooks by Andy Fish, check the library catalog or ask about them at the
\nlibrary! <\/p>\n
