This position is the<br \/>\ntemporary\/part-time appointment of the Town Clerk which will be<br \/>\neffective August 1, 2013 thru July 30, 2014. <\/p>\n<p>General duties include but are not limited to: two inspectors of<br \/>\ndifferent majority political parties are assigned to the check-in<br \/>\narea. Voters announce their address and name, and the inspectors check<br \/>\nthem off on the voting lists. Two other election workers of different<br \/>\nmajority political parties shall be stationed at the voting area exit<br \/>\nfor the same purpose. Ballot box inspectors assist voters with the<br \/>\nsecrecy sleeve and observe that the ballot is fed through the<br \/>\nAccu-Vote vote tabulator accurately. Un-enrolled or third party voters<br \/>\nwho are inspectors may be assigned as greeters who assist voters with<br \/>\nentering and exiting the polling area, and may also serve in any of<br \/>\nthe previously mentioned roles as long as there is an even number of<br \/>\ninspectors from the majority parties in each precinct. As a member of<br \/>\nour team, this employee needs to work and communicate well with others<br \/>\nto maintain a positive atmosphere. <\/p>\n<p>The Town of Hanover is also accepting applications for Election<br \/>\nTellers to work the Election Polls on election day(s). This position<br \/>\nis a temporary\/part-time appointment of the Town Clerk which will be<br \/>\neffective August 1, 2013 thru July 30, 2014. <\/p>\n<p>General duties include but are not limited to: Tellers shall work<br \/>\nafter the election polls close. They shall be assigned to count votes<br \/>\nand shall be instructed in that duty by the Warden or Deputy Warden.<br \/>\nTellers within a precinct must equally represent the majority parties;<br \/>\nun-enrolled or third party tellers may fill in after equity is<br \/>\nachieved. As a member of our team, this employee needs to work and<br \/>\ncommunicate well with others to maintain a positive atmosphere. <\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate for either position must be willing to work<br \/>\nup to 12-14 hours on an Election Day and will be required to complete<br \/>\nthe on-line State Ethics Training. The rate of pay for either position<br \/>\nis $10.37\/hour. <\/p>\n<p>Deadline for application for either position is July 23, 2013.
