Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
A pair of Red Sox tickets has been donated for another on-line auction
\nright here on \u201cAround Town on the Web\u201d – this time to benefit The
\nLast Resort Cat Shelter in Hanover. Proceeds of the auction will help
\nthe shelter raise money to care for abandoned and injured cat and
\nkittens. The tickets are reported to be great seats (Grandstand 24,
\nrow 9, seats 5 and 6), for the game on Wednesday, September 4, 2013,
\ngame starting at 7:10 p.m., when the Red Sox will play\u2014and we hope
\nsoundly defeat\u2014the Detroit Tigers. The face value of the tickets is
\n$50 each ($100 for the pair).<\/p>\n
Since opening in 1981, The Last Resort has rescued and placed more
\nthan 12,000 kittens and adult cats in new homes. In addition, another
\n4,000 plus feral cats have been spayed or neutered and returned to
\nareas where they have shelter and people willing to feed them, letting
\nthese ferals live out their lives and preventing the birth of
\nthousands of unwanted kittens.<\/p>\n
For those who are relatively new to this list, here\u2019s how it works.
\nBidding will begin at $50 (total) for the two tickets immediately, and
\nwill be accomplished simply by sending an e-mail to cathyhb@atotw.com<\/p>\n
. Once you enter a bid, you will be added to the distribution list
\nthat will keep you updated on the latest bid (as best as humanly
\npossible!). Bids will be accepted until exactly 6:00 p.m. on Sunday,
\nAugust 25. If two bids for the same amount are received, the earlier
\nbid will take precedence. So, it is to your advantage to bid your best
\nprice early. Bids received by me after 6:00 p.m. (computer clock time)
\non Sunday will not be considered. So don\u2019t wait until it is too
\nlate! Bid now to see the Red Sox on Wednesday, September 4 and help
\nraise money for the Last Resort Cat Shelter all at the same time!
