Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Each school in Hanover has a School Council consisting of parents,
\nteachers, representatives of the community, and administrators.
\nHanover High School\u2019s School Council has an opening for someone to
\nfill the role of community representative. This person may be any
\nHanover resident who does not currently have children attending the
\nhigh school. There is a meeting approximately once a month during the
\nschool year.<\/p>\n
School Councils exist to assist principals in four areas: adopting
\neducational goals for the school that are consistent with local
\neducational policies and statewide student performance standards;
\nidentifying the educational needs of students attending the school;
\nreviewing the annual school building budget, and formulating a school
\nimprovement plan. The High School Council also reviews the student
\nhandbook each spring to consider changes in disciplinary policy, any
\nsuch changes to take effect the following school year.<\/p>\n
