The Walnut Hill Garden Club of
\nHanover invites the public to attend a free lecture and slide show regarding
\n“Invasive Alien Plants of the South Shore” on Tuesday, February
\n3rd, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m., at the Phoenix Masonic Lodge on Broadway in
\nHanover.  As you drive north on Route 3, have you noticed trees covered
\nand choked by messy looking vines? Are burning bush seedlings popping up in
\nyour back lot unplanted?  During his slide show, Peter Alden will
\ndemonstrate where alien plants come from, how they arrived here, how they
\ncontinue to spread, and why we should be concerned about them.  Learn how
\nto identify invasive plants and how we can limit their spread in wild areas and
\nour gardens here on the South Shore. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Peter Alden is a world renowned
\nnaturalist, lecturer, ecotourism guide and author of 15 books on North American
\nand African wildlife, including the National Audubon Society’s <\/span>Regional Field Guide Series<\/span>.  A highly
\nentertaining and widely sought after lecturer on topics that include world
\nwildlife, the polar regions, invasive plants and biodiversity of the northeast,
\nhe is considered an authority on birds and larger mammals. <\/p>\n
