Fire Chief Jeffrey Blanchard and Town Manager Troy Clarkson have
\nannounced that Barbara Stone has been appointed Deputy Chief of the
\nHanover Fire Department. Deputy Stone has been serving in an acting
\ncapacity since July of 2011, and recently completed an assessment
\ncenter conducted by consultants Morris and McDaniel, Inc. <\/p>\n
\u201cDeputy Stone impressed the independent panel chosen to assess all
\nthree candidates. She has proven to be an effective fire officer and
\nwill continue to be a valued asset to the Department,\u201d said Chief
\nBlanchard. <\/p>\n
Deputy Stone has been with the Hanover Fire Department since 1982,
\nserving as a Call Firefighter, Professional Firefighter, Captain, and
\nmost recently, Provisional Deputy Chief. She lives in Hanover with her
\nhusband Henry and their children Sarah and Chris. <\/p>\n
The vacancy caused by the permanent appointment of Deputy Stone has
\nbeen filled by Captain Gino DeAcetis. Captain DeAcetis had been
\nserving as Acting Captain since October of 2011. He has been with the
\nHanover Fire Department since 1985. He lives in Hanover with his wife,
\nRobin and their daughter Alyvia. <\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition to his many years of experience as a member of the
\nHanover Fire Department, he has done an excellent job serving as
\nProvisional Captain on Group 1 and is certified as an EMT \u2013
\nIntermediate,\u201d noted Chief Blanchard. <\/p>\n
Captain DeAcetis joins Captains Jim Gallagher, Rob Kenney, Jason
\nCavallaro and Martin Alfis as departmental supervisors. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s great to see our home-grown professionals rise through the
\nranks and assume command positions within the department,\u201d said Town
\nManager Troy Clarkson. <\/p>\n
Deputy Stone and Captain DeAcetis will be joined by their families at
\na badge pinning ceremony on December 18 at 4:00 p.m. at the Hanover
