Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n

I love
\nwhen I have the opportunity to promote the good works of a local Hanover business. 
\nThis particular highlight is even more meaningful because of yesterday’s
\ninauguration and President Obama’s call to service – which so
\ndirectly resonates with all I purport to do with “Around Town on the Web”. 
\nOne of my favorite Girl Scout volunteers sent this along (I hope she gets
\nherself some free coffee)…read on!  <\/span><\/p>\n

Starbucks and
\nHandsOn Network are joining to launch the “I’m In!” campaign,
\nan initiative to make it easy to participate in the President’s call for
\nnational service.  In participating Starbucks stores across the nation
\n(and yes, I called and checked, Hanover is participating), the American public
\nwill have an opportunity to pledge five hours or more of community service
\ntoward a local volunteer opportunity of choice. Starbucks will honor each
\nperson who pledges with a free tall brewed coffee beginning Wednesday, Jan. 21
\nthrough Sunday, Jan. 25.  The goal of the effort is to raise pledges in
\nexcess of one million hours of service from all over the country.

\nHow to Participate at
\nYour Local Starbucks <\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/b>Visit the Hanover Starbucks,
\nlocated at 1972 Washington Street (Rte. 53): <\/span><\/em>
\nYou can join the “I’m In” campaign, part of the
\nStarbucks™ Shared Planet™ commitment to community involvement, when
\nvisiting the Hanover Starbucks beginning Wednesday, Jan. 21 (and continuing
\nthrough Sunday, Jan. 25).  Stop by the “I’m In” display
\nfeaturing community pledge cards, pick up the card, and fill it out with your
\nfive-hour commitment to volunteer. 
\nPledge Five:<\/span><\/em>
\n<\/i>Place the “I’m In” sticker from the pledge card on your
\nlapel, signifying your pledge, and take the card with you as a reminder to keep
\nthe effort going.  As a thank you, each customer who pledges five hours of
\ntheir own time will receive a complimentary tall cup of brewed coffee.

\n<\/i>Customers can log on to www.pledge5.starbucks.com
\nto record pledge hours, find local volunteer opportunities via the HandsOn
\nNetwork, track hours pledged-to-date, and receive updates on the
\ncampaign.
