Hanover Town Clerk Cathy Harder-Bernier announced today that her
\noffice is now managing a new \u201cCommunity Calendar\u201d feature within
\nthe Town\u2019s website. The comprehensive calendar of town board and
\ncommittee meetings and non-profit groups and organizational events is
\nnow featured on the Town of Hanover\u2019s website at
\nhttp:\/\/www.hanover-ma.gov\/town-calendar
\n .<\/p>\n
\u201cThis inclusive look at the life and business of the town will
\nenable groups to coordinate planning of events and help to avoid major
\nscheduling conflicts,\u201d said Harder-Bernier. \u201cIt will also give
\nindividual townspeople a chance to obtain information about meetings
\nand events that they might not otherwise know about. This addition to
\nthe town\u2019s website continues to fulfill my promise to the people of
\nHanover to bring the Town Clerk\u2019s Office into the 21st century and
\nmake it accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thanks go to the
\nBoard of Selectmen and Town Manager Troy Clarkson for providing the
\nnew website platform to enable us to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n
Posting of events is easily requested by filling out a simple form
\non-line that can be found on the Town\u2019s website at
\nhttp:\/\/www.hanover-ma.gov\/home\/webforms\/post-a-community-event
\n . The link is also found on the front page of the town\u2019s website. <\/p>\n
In order to be approved for Community Calendar inclusion by the Town
\nClerk\u2019s Office, the event needs to be sponsored by a Hanover-based
\nnon-profit organization, or be held in the Town of Hanover and run by
\na non-profit. \u201cThese are the same guidelines that are used on the
\n\u2018Around Town on the Web\u2019 e-mail newsletter,\u201d added
\nHarder-Bernier. \u201c\u2019Around Town on the Web\u2019 has been a volunteer
\noperation and very successful since 2004; the Community Calendar will
\nsurely be an excellent town-run complement to that service.\u201d Town
\nboard and committee meetings are already posted on the Community
\nCalendar by the individual town departments.<\/p>\n
