The Hanover Foundation for
\nEducational Enrichment proudly invites all residents to attend a community
\npresentation of "Rachel’s Challenge" on Thursday, January 29, at 7:00
\nPM, in the high school auditorium.  Rachel Scott was the first person
\nkilled at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999.  Rachel’s acts of
\nkindness and compassion coupled with the content of her six diaries have become
\nthe foundation for one of the most life-changing school programs in America. 
\nThrough its annual Grants Awards Program, the Foundation voted to allocate
\n$4550 to fund this important project . An award of this magnitude would not be
\npossible without the generous support of our fundraising efforts given by the
\nentire Hanover community. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Powerful audio\/video footage of
\n“Rachel’s Challenge” will be shown to students in a one-hour school
\npresentation, followed by a 45-minute training session involving both adult and
\nstudent leaders. The impact upon students has been enormous and motivates them
\nto positively change the way they treat others.  This interactive
\ntechnique creates and helps sustain a positive climate change within the school
\nand beyond.  “Rachel’s Challenge” offers a year-long
\ncurriculum called the Friends of Rachel (FOR) program that continues training
\nstudents and plugs them into activities that continue the chain reaction of

The Foundation especially thanks
\nteachers Janet Curley, Lisa Green, Christine Fay, Korri Jones, Keri Morrison,
\nAdrienne Newcomb, and Stephen Rodday for their efforts in bringing this
\npowerful program to our students and community.  We encourage all
\nresidents to visit the high school on January 29th to be a part of
\n“Rachel’s Challenge”.<\/p>\n
