Hanover Special Education Parent Advisory Council is pleased to sponsor the
\nfollowing workshop for parents and professionals: <\/p>\n
Anxiety in the Classroom: Looking into the Overlooked <\/p>\n
Tuesday, March 11, 2014, 7 p.m. \u2013 9 p.m., Hanover High School (First
\nFloor)<\/p>\n
All people feel nervous from time to time. However, sometimes fear or
\nanxiety becomes so intense that it interferes with their ability to
\nfunction at home, school, work, or in interpersonal relationships.
\nWe will focus on the following:
\nWhat is Anxiety?
\nNormal vs. Disordered Anxiety
\nPrevalence of Anxiety Disorders
\nIdentifying Anxiety at Home\/School
\nTreatments for Anxiety<\/p>\n
Presented by: Shilpee Sindwani, Ph.D., Child and Family Psychological
\nServices <\/p>\n
Dr. Sindwani received her B.A. in Psychology from Duke University and went
\non to complete a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Temple University, with a
\nfocus on child and adolescent anxiety. Dr. Sindwani completed a
\npre-doctoral internship at Riverbend Community Mental Health Center in
\nConcord, NH, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in the Division of
\nAdolescent\/Young Adult Medicine at Harvard Medical School\/Children\u2019s
\nHospital, Boston.<\/p>\n
PAC sponsored workshops are free and open to the public. Please note that
