\nGot toxics?
\nSouth Shore Recycling Cooperative member towns, including Hanover, will
\nhost household hazardous waste collections this spring. Residents may
\nattend their own town\u2019s event at no charge.
\nCollection is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. \u2013 1:00 p.m. on April 26 at the
\nHanover Transfer Station, 118 Rockland Street.
\nSome towns may limit subsidized quantities. Commercial generators, call
\nahead to 1-617-852-3086 to arrange disposal and payment.
\nBring: Oil based paint, stains, solvents, gasoline, automotive fluids,
\npesticides, photography and pool chemicals, acids, bases, and poisons in
\nsecure, labeled containers.
\nDo not bring: industrial, pathological and medical waste, radioactive
\nmaterials, pressurized gas cylinders or explosives.
\nOil based paint, propane tanks, motor oil, anti-freeze, medical sharps,
\nauto and rechargeable batteries, and fluorescent lamps are collected
\nregularly by some towns and some retailers. Residents should use those

\nLatex paint and driveway sealer are messy, but not hazardous. If not
\nrecyclable as described below, absorb liquid with cat litter and dispose in
\ntrash.
\nUsable leftover latex paint is accepted and recycled into new paint
\nproducts at The Paint Exchange LLC of North Scituate for a fee of $2\/can.
