Dear fellow Hanoverians:
\nHanover High School varsity baseball captain Ryan Kelleher is again running
\nthe Matheny Baseball Camp over April school vacation. This year he is
\nrunning the camp as a part of his Senior Humanities Project along with his
\nfellow senior baseball captain Drew Caldwell and Phil LeVangie. <\/p>\n
Last year Ryan renamed the camp to the Matheny Baseball Camp to keep a
\nHanover tradition going in memory of Stephen Matheny. As many readers will
\nknow, Stephen Matheny was a hard working and dedicated athlete who wore the
\nHanover name across his chest proudly. Ryan and his teammates intend to
\nkeep Stephen’s legacy going by teaching the younger athletes of Hanover
\nabout who Stephen was and what he stood for. <\/p>\n
This year they have changed the camp to a Middle School Camp (grades 5 –
\n8). They will be using the high school fields so that the 7th and 8th
\ngraders are on the Big League field. <\/p>\n
The cost of the camp is $60. It includes instruction from varsity baseball
\nplayers, live games, and fun drills to go along with pizza and t-shirts.
\nThey will also be giving each camper an individual evaluation sheet to
\ninform them what to work on. <\/p>\n
This year’s camp will be held on:
\nApril 21st, 3:00 p.m. \u2013 6:00 p.m.
\nApril 22nd, 9:00 a.m. \u2013 12 noon
\nApril 23rd OFF (varsity baseball doubleheader)
\nApril 24th, 9:00 a.m. \u2013 12 noon
\nApril 25th, 9:00 a.m. \u2013 12 noon<\/p>\n
They will encourage all of the campers to attend the varsity doubleheader
\nat the High School on Wednesday April 23rd.<\/p>\n
