Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
This Friday, May 9th, Hanover High School students will be voting in a mock
\nelection that mirrors the Annual Town Election scheduled for May 10th.
\nHanover High School senior Kristen Daudelin has been working with Hanover
\nTown Clerk Cathy Harder-Bernier since January on this project and they are
\nmeeting with students this week to review why and how they will be voting
\nnext week.<\/p>\n
If you are a parent of, or know a Hanover High School student or two in
\nyour neighborhood, please take a few minutes to talk to them this week
\nabout the importance of voting. Talk about who is on the ballot and what
\nfolks like the Selectmen and members of the School Committee do. You might
\neven talk about what can be done about the shortage of candidates of late.
\nIt is hoped that this town-wide discussion of Hanover town politics will
\nengender some life-long enthusiasm for the cornerstone of our country\u2019s
\ndemocracy: the right to vote in free and fair elections, and perhaps even
\nspur on some adults to participate more actively.<\/p>\n
