Dear fellow Hanoverians:<\/p>\n
Town Meeting adjourned this evening after considering the complete Special
\nTown Meeting warrant and 20 of the 66 articles from the Annual Town Meeting
\nwarrant. <\/p>\n
Of particular note is the fact that we moved Article 41 (the proposal to
\nprivatize the transfer station) forward and considered it earlier than
\nplanned in the meeting. So much for my supposition yesterday that this
\nnever happens on big issues! After quite a bit of procedural jockeying and
\nmultiple motions, a motion against privatization of the transfer station
\ncarried the day.<\/p>\n
A proposal from the Selectmen to make the Town Clerk’s position appointed
\nrather than elected failed on a voice vote.<\/p>\n
In additional business, the town’s $52 million dollar budget passed.<\/p>\n
Town Meeting will reconvene at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow\/Tuesday night at Hanover
\nHigh School. See you there!<\/p>\n
